It's been a while for this specific brew but as we're slowly catching up from summer, the Valhalla has made its return, but with a small Belgian twist. That being changing the yeast from a Fermentis BE-256 to the T-58, providing a much stronger Belgian flavor and aroma. While both are considered Belgian yeasts, the T-58 is what you could call the classic Belgium blend, and as Belgium is known for having some of the best beers in the world, not to be ignored. Their yeast strands go back centuries and while lots of herbs and spices help with your typical Belgian brew, a big reason for their unique flavor is the yeast and we're excited to finally have one available and on tap.

Nothing like a nice, smooth and rich stout for a perfect winter beer and with that, I'm happy to announce that the Black Swan Stout is the beer of the week, meaning 50% for all pints, liters, pitchers, growlers, and starting this week, for any shipping orders.

The beer of the week goes from Mondays through Sunday. For orders online this only applies to Minnesota residents and is available as singles or you can get a volume discount with a 6-pack. And don't forget, the 25% Holiday Special for all the brews goes through the end of tomorrow, a last chance to treat yourself with some Loony's Brew before the end of the year.

For those around here during New Years Eve, we're working City Cab and Van Service to provide free cabs for the evening. From 9pm to 2am, you can call 283-8635 and they'll pick you up from your house to the bar and from the bar back to your house, having fun and staying safe.

Sometimes one can run into a problem of having too many choices, resulting with it being difficult to decide which to go with and not doing anything. Such as when you'd like to bring over some of your favorite Northern Minnesota brews to share with a few friends, and no doubt everyone might like something different, what can one do. Well, to help make it a little easier, we're adding a few variety packs that provide a nice selection of different flavors within a particular style.

Through the rest of the winter we'll be bringing back the family of lagers, some lighter ales including the Amaizing Cream Ale, and some new Belgian styles, all of which benefit from fermenting at relatively colder temperatures, which of course we'll have no shortage of any time soon.
